An incredible incident took place in the cemetery of Nea Smyrni, where, while the funeral of a 70-year-old woman was taking place, a 20-year-old man invaded the church, taking actions that were provocative for the time and place.
As reported by ekklisiaonline.gr, during the funeral procession, with the coffin open, a 20-year-old man entered the space, who started shouting and reached right above the coffin of the deceased, where he began to sing and dance in front to the astonished eyes of the woman’s three children and relatives. The shocked family of the deceased asked the priests to remove the 20-year-old, but received no response, while the man then walked towards the two priests and made grimaces and gestures while pulling their beards.
According to information, people removed the man from the funeral home. When in the end the family went to ask the two priests for an explanation, they themselves replied that they could not interrupt the service, while they emphasized that the particular man has mental retardation and has carried out similar acts in the past. The family asks the Diocese of New Smyrna to investigate the event, since with one wrong move by the 20-year-old, if the coffin fell while he was dancing and shouting, the situation would get out of control.
