The Award is an opportunity to showcase promising European start-ups that can become technological “unicorns”
Greek startup nvisionist has been officially announced as one of the top 10 nominees for DIGITALEUROPE’s Future Unicorn Award 2024, the annual international award recognizing Europe’s most promising scale-up technology businesses.
As stated in today’s announcement, the winner will be announced on February 21 at Masters of Digital, the annual event of the European Digital Technology Industry Association DIGITALEUROPE by Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth.
The Future Unicorn Awards, now in their seventh year running, honor scale-up businesses from across Europe that have the potential to become Europe’s future tech giants. The Award is an excellent opportunity to showcase promising European start-ups that can become technological “unicorns”, i.e. have the potential to be valued at more than €1 billion. The purpose of the institution is to prove that Europe has what it takes to become a digital leader. DIGITALEUROPE, in fact, has set a goal for Europe to double the number of its technological “unicorns” by 2030, as one of the most important solutions to make Europe a digital superpower.
This year, in addition to nvisionist representing Greece, 9 more European companies are claiming the award. nvisionist was selected due to the robustness of its business model, its ability to attract investment and its growth potential. At the same time, it meets the criteria for utilizing innovative and “green” technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (Artificial Intelligence), Machine Learning (Machine Learning) and the use of sustainable and environmentally friendly practices (CleanTech/GreenTech), in addition it is the ultimate ally for de-lignitization and the achievement of the goal of zero emissions.
“Today, only 9% of the world’s unicorns come from Europe and only 4.5% from the EU. This is a very significant figure, especially at a time when Europe is seeking to assert its global competitive advantage and become digital superpower. This year’s impressive list of the most brilliant scale-ups clearly reflects the dynamism of European innovative minds to provide solutions and tackle the most demanding challenges. We believe these companies have what it takes to become Europe’s next tech giant,” said Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl, CEO of DIGITALEUROPE.
“The recognition of nvisionist as one of the top 10 technological scale-ups in Europe is a great honor for us. We are proud to represent Greece in such an important and international competition, such as the Future Unicorn Award, but also that we are now among the elite of these world-leading technological companies, indeed belonging to the 4.5% that come from the EU and have valuation prospects of over Euro 1 billion”, said the Special Advisor of nvisionist, Mr. Vassilis Orfanos.
