The Board of Directors EBEA was held with the participation of Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogiannis
In tourism as a key pillar of development of the country focused yesterday’s Board of Directors EBEAwhich was carried out with the participation of the Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogiannis.
According to a statement from the EBEA, the Minister of Tourism said: “All sectors that support or support directly or indirectly by tourism contribute substantially and determine the quality of tourism development. It is certain that the achievement of our goals, as a whole in the economy and in particular in the tourism sector, require systematic synergies between central government and businesses, between businesses and regional administrations, as well as between economic sectors. The role and contribution of the EBEA to this effort, as an institutionalized adviser to the state, is crucial. It contributes decisively as a source of extroversion and a center of dialogue to the diffusion of know -how, formed proposals to the state and local government. “
THE President of EBEA, Yiannis BratakosIn his speech he emphasized the need for tourism to emerge in one of the main pillars of a new, durable productive model of the Greek economy, where, in combination with manufacturing, high crafts and the primary sector, it will be a key lever for its dynamic, extrovert and sustainable development. “The aim is not just to increase arrivals, but to create substantial added value for local communities and the national economy. That is why we need to attempt to move to a new, organized and cohesive model of tourism development. A model that will allow the use of the comparative advantages of each region of the country, “he said.
In this context, Mr. Bratakos presented specific EBEA proposals such as supporting tourism investment through development law, Providing incentives for upgrading existing hotels, as well as upgrading tourism education and measures to cover staff shortages. Specifically for Attica, the EBEA proposes to enhance Attica’s tourist identity with a single brand, promoting winter and autumn tourism and developing thematic routes, highlighting new attraction of visitors and training local businesses in digital and green business.
OEBEA’s Rederos ended his speech, highlighting two critical points for the success of this transition. “The first concerns the adequacy and effective operation of public infrastructure, especially in transport, energy, digital networks and health, as these areas determine the visitor’s experience. And the second, the safeguarding of a predictable and favorable investment environment, with clear rules, sustainable financing conditions and less bureaucracy, “Mr Bratakos said.
