A case of criminal organization, transnational character, which traveled anabolic substances and illegal pharmaceutical formulations in European countries through Greece, was resolved by the Organized Crime of Northern Greece.
A 45 -year -old man accused of criminal organization, forgery, fraud and infringement of sports and drug laws was arrested in the Attica. The investigation revealed that the 45 -year -old, along with four unknown associates, were handling the illegal formulations through legal transport companies, which were deceived by using counterfeit and virtual documents, as well as false identities.
In particular, in order to achieve their goal, but also to hide their traces, they were repeatedly transported by illegal cargo from company to company, with final destinations abroad, without the payment of a fee. In surveys conducted in companies, houses and vehicle, 3,870,604 pieces of anabolic substances and illegal medicines, a truck, a cellphone and a number of documents and documents related to the case were found and confiscated.
It is noted that anabolic and pharmaceutical preparations were found in two storage and transport companies in areas of Attica and Thessaloniki, located on a total of 17 pallets, of which seven were intended for a European country. The commercial value of the seized anabolic substances and illegal medicines is estimated at € 8 million, and their sample will be sent to the National Medicines Agency (AEO) for laboratory examination.
The detainee is being led to the competent prosecutor’s office, while investigations into verifying the full range of the action of those involved are continuing.
