What applies to program beneficiaries
Started today, Friday, May 2, 2025, the electronic submission of beneficiaries and providers for the program social tourism of the Public Employment Service (DBA) addressed exclusively to retirees freelancers (T. OAEE). The deadline for submitting applications expires on Sunday 11/05/2025 at 23:59.
Beneficiaries of the program are retirees of E EFKA-OAEE, who have an obligation to pay a corresponding contribution of 1 euro for the specific benefit (par. 5 of article 69 of Law 3863/2010).
Applications of the beneficiaries concerned are submitted exclusively to the email address https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ergasia-Kai-ashalise/apozemioseis-kai-parokhes/programmata-koinonikou-tourismou-gia-suntaxioukhous-ephka-proen.
Specifically, the route is: Initial/Work and Insurance/Compensation and Benefits/Social Tourism Programs for E-EFKA Pensioners (formerly OAEE).
The program begins this year on 01/06/2025, earlier than ever and will be implemented until 31/05/2026. The total budget is EUR 3 million and a total of 25,000 checks will be allocated.
As stated in a related announcement, the selection of beneficiaries is based on the scoring of specific criteria (disabled, single, number of children, income, first time participation in the program), in an objective and transparent manner, through the integrated information system (IIS) of the DBA.
Providers of the program are tourist accommodation and ferry companies, as required by the public invitation.
Providers of Social Tourism of the previous year are automatically integrated into the providers of providers, as long as they update their supporting documents.

The check, which ensures participation in the program, is a unique number for each beneficiary and each beneficiary separately.
Beneficiaries/beneficiaries can carry out up to six nights in a tourist accommodation, which they choose from the “Register of Providers” of the DBA, upon their consultation with the provider, with little private participation.
In particular, in Leros, Lesvos, Chios, Kos, Samos and Rhodes, up to 10 nights free (zero private participation) can take place, while in the Municipalities of Istia-Edipsos and Mantoudiou-Limni-Ag. Anna of North Evia and in the Regional Units of Magnesia, Karditsa, Larissa, Trikala and Evros, up to 12 nights can be held free of charge.
The subsidy prices are increased by 20% for the peak month of August and for Christmas (from 15/12/2025 to 14/01/2026) and Easter (from 03/04/2026 to 19/04/2026).
The increased subsidy is valid all year long for the accommodation of North Evia, Evros and Thessaly, except for the Sporades.
In addition to staying in tourist accommodation, ferry tickets are also subsidized.
The participation of the beneficiaries is 25%.
For people with disabilities, ferry tickets are available for free.
