DYPA: A total of 962,050 registered unemployed in November 2024

It was recorded decreased by 6.4% compared to the corresponding month of 2023

The total of 962,050 people registered unemployed in the register of the Public Employment Service (PYPA) in November 2024, recording a decrease of 66,073 people (-6.4%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year November 2023 and an increase of 128,992 people (15.5%) in compared to the previous month of October 2024.

According to its registered unemployment statistics TWO, out of the total of 962,050 people, 460,387 people (percentage 47.9%) are registered in the DYPA register for a period equal to or longer than 12 months and 501,663 (percentage 52.1%) are registered in the DYPA register for a period less than 12 months.

Men amounted to 343,209 people (35.7% rate) and women amounted to 618,841 people (64.3% rate).

The 30-44 age group gathered the largest number of registered unemployed among the age groups, which amounted to 302,033 people (31.4%).

The educational level of secondary education, which includes post-secondary education, gathered the largest number of registered unemployed among educational levels, which amounted to 462,527 people (48.1%).

Among the Regions of the country, the Region of Attica and the Region of Central Macedonia recorded the largest number of registered unemployed, which amounted to 290,410 people (30.2% rate) and 178,993 people (18.6% rate) respectively.

The total number of subsidized unemployed, in November 2024, (refers to the number of beneficiaries paid within the corresponding month), amounted to 170,851 people, of which 112,638 (65.9%) are common unemployed and other categories of subsidized unemployed and 58,213 (34.1%) are seasonal tourists professions.

Specifically, the number of subsidized unemployed people, in November 2024, reached 170,851 people, showing an increase of 23,097 people (15.6%) compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, November 2023, and an increase of 52,780 people (44.7 %) compared to the previous month of October 2024.

Men amounted to 69,486 (percentage of 40.7%) and women to 101,365 (percentage of 59.3%).

Of the total number of subsidized unemployed, 103,850 (60.8% rate) are common, 1,585 (0.9% rate) are builders, 58,213 (34.1% rate) are seasonal tourist occupations, 3,918 (2.3% rate) are seasonal others (agricultural), 3,198 (percent 1.9%) are teachers and 87 (0.1%) are others.
