Strategic contacts with leading Middle East tourist markets carry out at Dubai EOT Secretary -General Andreas Fiorentinos and the President of the Organization, Angela Gerekou, as part of the EOT participation in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) International Tourism Fair (ATM), the largest of its kind in the Middle East.
On the topic of “Global Travel:” Developing Tomorrow’s Tourism through Enhanced Connectivity “and aiming to boost global tourism cooperation, this year’s event hosts more than 2,600 exhibitors from 161 countries, and is expected to exceed 47,000 entries by professionals. Particularly intense is the presence of Asia and India, increasing 27% and 41% respectively.
In the Greek pavilion co -operators are tourism companies, airlines, airports, cruise companies, start ups and regions of the country operating in this geographical zone.
During the contacts of the delegation of EOTconfirmed Greece’s growing dynamics in the Middle East for this year’s tourist season. Specifically:
– Qatar Airways discussed the increase in airlines from Australia to Athens by 15%, with the prospect of further reinforcement, the expansion of flights to Greek destinations and the possible re -launch of the line to Thessaloniki.
– Air Arabia enhances the Sarza-Athens connection, adding new frequencies, now offering a daily connection and considering expansion to other destinations with the support of EOT through joint marketing and publicity actions.
– Flydubai maintains connections to Mykonos, Santorini and Corfu and examines the expansion of flights beyond the summer, as well as the addition of new destinations to Greece for 2026.
According to EIA RES, Mr Fiorentinos had a meeting with representatives of the Emirates Airlines, in the context of an existing cooperation governed by a memorandum of cooperation between the two sides. During the meeting, a targeted network of projection actions aimed at boosting the company’s year round to America, the Japan and China markets (Shenzhen), which are intense dynamic, as well as in Australia, for which the connectivity to Greece was increasing during Greece, was agreed to strengthen the year round.
