What should owners and tenants do
Until April 30, the cleaning of the plot and other open spaces in view of the firefighting period should be completed.
At the same time, on April 1, the platform for submission of statements in the National Registry of Maintenance of Preventive Fire Prosecution Measures (https://akathata.apps.gov.gr) has been opened. The competent authorities are sounding the alarm so that the owners or tenants of these sites can complete the necessary steps immediately, as we are less than 15 days after the expiration of the deadline.
At the same time, they will have to submit the corresponding statement to the platform, and in the event of its non -submission to the National Register, administrative fines of EUR 1,000 are provided. In addition, in the event of a false statement, the owners are at least 2 years in prison and a fine of up to 54,000 euros. In his recent statements, the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Yiannis Kefalogiannis, underlined the need to complete the cleanings of the plots and emphasized the importance of cooperation with the municipalities.
In an interview with the 10th Delphi Economic Forum, the minister noted that the state has secured twice as many resources for local cleaning of public spaces, while parallel to oversee citizens, in cases of non -compliance in the cleaning of private land. At the same time, he stressed that according to last year’s data, the electronic platform that operated for the first time of the 334 municipalities of the country responded to 185. “It must be done systematically and we must reach 100% of the plots. This year the goal is for the 334 municipalities to be on the platform. It is a useful tool, ”he said and added that last year 830,000 land cleaning across the country were carried out.
Who should proceed to clean the plots
According to a relevant firefighter, the owners, lawmakers, usufructants, employees or lists of land and other unsecured spaces located in:
(a) Areas within approved plans,
(b) Areas within boundaries of settlements without an approved planning plan,
(c) Lands located within a radius of 100 m from the limits of the above (a) and (b) after informing the competent forestry service and
(d) Outside of building stadiums, for areas not subject to the provisions of forest legislation, in accordance with the forest map of the area and after informing the competent Forest Service.
They should clean up the above sites during the period from 1st to April 30 and throughout the fire period, from May 1 to October 31, they must maintain their plots clearly to prevent the risk of fire or rapid expansion.
It is recalled that the required cleaning should include:
– logging and removal of dry and broken trees and branches, as well as branches directly in contact with building.
– Removal of fuel planting on the surface of the soil such as leaf, dry grass and dried branches.
– Dealing the base of the crown of the trees and increase its onset of soil surface, depending on the age and type of tree.
– dilution of bushy vegetation in terms of soil coverage
– Removal of any other abandoned cosmeters, ignorant, explosive or flammable materials, objects and waste.
– Safe collection and transfer of all cleaning residues.
– This obligation excludes the landscaped, preserved gardens or planted surfaces of uncovered spaces of buildings, apartment buildings, etc. of the areas and areas mentioned above.
