According to an announcement by GAIAOSE, the following organizations expressed interest in the project:

1. Association of Goldair Cargo – Aktor Group of Companies

2. Association of Legal Entities TRADE LOGISTICS AEBE – INTERKAT S.A.

3. NOVAL PROPERTY Real Estate Investment Company

4. Thessaloniki Port Organization S.A.

The first phase of the competition will be completed with the evaluation of the submitted expression of interest files and the pre-selection of the candidates who will continue in the second phase, which consists of the competitive dialogue process and the submission of binding offers.

The preferred investor will undertake for at least 30 years the financing, planning, licensing, development, construction, financing, operation, maintenance and exploitation of the Business Park in the former Gonou camp, with a total area of 672,000 m2. The exact duration of the concession, as well as any extension that may be granted, will be determined upon completion of the competitive dialogue process.

GAIAOSE, as the beneficiary of the project, assigned the Strategic Importance Contracts Unit of TAIPED (PPF) to carry out the tender, which started the tender process after first completing the necessary preliminary maturation actions for granting the property to the investment scheme that will be chosen.

By utilizing the property in the former Gonou camp, Northern Greece will acquire a modern business park that will upgrade the combined transport industry, with substantial benefits for the local community and the national economy.

The managing director of GAIAOSE, Panagiotis Balomenos, said: “One of the most important prerequisites for the utilization of the property in the former Gonou camp was completed today. By implementing a structured 3-year plan for the maturation and exploitation of a complex real estate portfolio, GAIAOSE aspires to actively contribute to regional development and to the national economy in general.”

The mandated advisor of TAIPED and head of the Strategic Contracts Unit, Panagiotis Stamboulidis, pointed out after the expression of interest: “Methodically and efficiently, TAIPED’s Strategic Contracts Unit implements the tender process for another critical investment that will act as a lever development for Thessaloniki and the whole of Northern Greece. In the coming years the former Gonou camp will be transformed into an innovative logistics center with great benefits for the combined transport industry. In combination with the business park in Fyli, for which the tender is being conducted by the PPF, our country will take a decisive step towards establishing itself as a logistics hub in the Balkans, strengthening the competitiveness of the Greek economy”.
