Actions of EUR 83.86 million are foreseen for infrastructure, employment, entrepreneurship and services coordination
An additional EUR 83.86 million European resources are available to support the affected areas of the Region of Thessaly from Daniel bad weather, as it became known by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance.
In particular, by decision of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanassis, following cooperation with the Region of Thessaly and the European Commission, a plan is being prepared to support the affected areas by Daniel’s bad weather, which is funded by initial budget resources of 83.86 million euros. 2021-2027. The new integrated project, with the utilization of resources from the “Environment and Climate Change” programs, “human resources and social cohesion” and “competitiveness”, managed by the relevant General Secretariat of the Ministry of Education, includes four axes: Infrastructure, Employment, Entrepreneurship, Coordination of Services.
In detail, actions are provided for: Restoration of the damage-deserting networks in the affected municipalities of the Region of Thessaly, of EUR 39.46 million. Smorring Fund for 500 businesses. A special program for the creation of 500 new businesses by graduates in the affected areas of € 22 million. 2,182 Unemployed work in the municipalities and the Region of Thessaly eight months of EUR 19.2 million and a € 3.2 million regional coordinating support mechanism.
It should be noted that the plan can be updated by the addition of new actions, depending on the needs and existing financial capabilities of the programs. It is emphasized that its actions are in addition to those whose implementation is already planned through other programs/financial means. The Plan is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Cohesion Fund and the European Social Fund+.
