Travel receipts increased by 4.4% according to Bank of Greece data

According to the Bank of Greece, this development has resulted in travel receipts increased by 4.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2024, reaching € 1.072 billion. In particular, receipts from EU-27 residents increased by 0.3% and stood at € 519.9 million while residents of other countries by 8.5% and stood at € 526.1 million.

More specifically, receipts from residents of euro area countries stood at EUR 434.2 million, down 0.6%, while revenue from EU-27 residents outside the euro zone increased by 5.1% to EUR 85.7 million. Specifically, receipts from Germany decreased by 16.3% and stood at € 113.9 million and the receipts from France decreased by 34.4% and stood at EUR 32 million. Italy was increased by 33.5%, which stood at € 76.5 million. Of the other countries, 17.8% rose to the United Kingdom, which stood at € 72.0 million, and US revenue increased by 4.5% and stood at € 143.8 million. Finally, the receipts from Russia stood at € 2 million.

In terms of inbound tourist traffic, airports increased by 14.1%, while this through road border stations decreased by 8.1%. During the review, travel traffic from EU-27 countries stood at 1.17 million travelers, down 0.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2024, while travel traffic from other countries increased by 11.7% and stood at 1,279 million travelers. Travel traffic from euro area countries increased by 14.2%, while travel traffic from EU-27 countries outside the euro area decreased by 30.7%.

In particular, travel from Germany increased by 19.6% and stood at 244.5 thousand travelers, while France decreased by 48.7% and stood at 60.6 thousand travelers. Travel traffic from Italy rose by 21.4%, which was 127.6 thousand travelers. In terms of countries outside the EU27, travel from the United Kingdom increased by 41.8% to 167.5 thousand travelers, while the US increased by 16.2% to 188.7 thousand travelers. Finally, travel from Russia was 1.9 thousand travelers.
