The Joint Circuit Court unanimously found him guilty – the sad time of crime
The court sentenced life imprisonment and an additional 16 years, without any mitigating. the 62 -year -old who raped and murdered 12 -year -old Zeneida in September 2011 at Piraeus. The perpetrator was a former neighbor of the unfortunate child.
The Piraeus Joint Circuit Court of Justice unanimously found him guilty of rape and death of the 12 -year -old, who was tragically killed, as he burned alive, in an attempt to disappear traces of the crime.
The girl had been found with severe burns on the staircase of the apartment building where she lived with her family in Kaminia. Despite the efforts of the doctors, she succumbed to her injuries after 13 days of hospitalization. Authorities’ investigations revealed that it was a brutal murder.
During the trial, the prosecutor was categorical in her speech, arguing that the defendant had to be found guilty, as he said, he was “the only one who recognized the child”.
The case remained unmistakable for more than nine years, until the 62 -year -old was arrested after a complaint by his partner, who accused him of abusing her minor daughter, thereby leading to revealing his guilt.
