“A new targeted subsidy scheme for consumers will be reviewed immediately”
A new heating allowance that will cover the majority of households heated by electricity was announced in a briefing to political editors by the government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis. As he said, more details will be provided by the political leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He even left open the possibility of new support measures “in case the prices of energy products escape from the new year”.
Then, as he said, “a new targeted subsidy scheme for consumers will be immediately reviewed. The Government’s support to the citizens continues, with special care especially for our most vulnerable fellow citizens, with respect for public finances and the money of Greek taxpayers”.
