Shocking are the details of the fratricide that took place in New Smyrni, where the 18-year-old confessed, that he killed his 16-year-old brother with scissors, after a fight over a shirt.
But this was not the first time that the two brothers held hands. According to testimonies, last summer the two brothers had stirred up the neighborhood again, with another fight again about clothes. Then the 16-year-old had hit his older brother with an iron fist, while the 18-year-old took out a knife and tried to injure him. The two brothers were separated by the neighbors, while an Immediate Action police car was also called to the scene.
The timeline of the crime
Last night, December 26, at around 9:00 p.m., the neighbors were woken up again by voices heard from inside the apartment on Stadiou Street. They immediately notified the Immediate Action and the policemen who arrived at the scene, entered the apartment and found the 16-year-old covered in blood, who had scissor wounds on his chest, neck and hands. The minor was taken to the People’s Hospital, where he ended up.
The 16-year-old’s mother, his grandmother, his 18-year-old brother and his girlfriend were in the apartment at the time. All were brought to the Nea Smyrni Police Department and after their statement, they were released except for the 18-year-old. After an all-night interrogation, the young man confessed, that he killed his brother with a pair of scissors, because he took a shirt from him, without asking him.
The 16-year-old ran for cover and tried to lock himself in the living room, but he didn’t make it, so his brother chased him and hit him with a pair of scissors, which he found in the house.
