Unanswered questions

Many unanswered questions are caused by the move of his administration Olympic Stadium (Spyros Louis OAKA) to assign to a private personby rough procedure, the right to place advertising signs in the surrounding outdoor space of the largest sports facilities in the country and in the surrounding streets, against just… 4,100 euros per year.

As he points out newsbeast.gr this amount is barely enough to be able to place a half-page, or even a full-page advertisement in one of the widely circulated Sunday newspapers, and for just one time.

And yet its board of directors OAKA decided with such a low amount to give in the company FFP Group SA, which by the way was founded only about a year agothe right to place for a whole year in the sports facilities of Amarousiou “digital information and information signs, which will also include advertising messages on behalf of the bidder”, as stated in the relevant decision.

The ten advertising signs that will be granted will contain 10 minutes of messages per hour that will concern the operation of the OAKA, while the remaining time of 50 minutes per hour will be available for advertising exploitation by the contractor. And all this, at a time when the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Cycle Track are closed, since the first interventions to strengthen the stability of the Calatrava shelter began a few days ago.

Worthy of mention is the fact that OAKA allegedly did not make a relevant post on its website for this specific tender (www.oaka.com.gr), in order for other companies that might be interested to become aware of the basic terms of the announcement. In fact, if there is no relevant publicity, any tender process (whether it is open, whether it is closed, whether it is preliminary), in this case preliminary, is contrary to the Regulation of Leasing, Leasing and Concession of Real Estate of OAKA. After all, the Olympic Sports Center of Athens, as a Legal Entity under Private Law, belonging to the wider public sector, must obtain the highest possible rents.

Publications of the local press of the northern suburbs speak of many unanswered questionswhile information also involve in the case municipal councilors who were recently elected in the areaas well as specific members of the board of directors of OAKA who allegedly do not absolutely promote the interests of the public purpose as they should, in order to have the most beneficial use of the properties.

Finally, it should be noted that up to this moment the administration of the Athens Olympic Sports Center has not released any further information regarding the reasoning behind the decision to award the billboards and in particular the price that was decided, thus strengthening the suspicions about the procedure followed.
