The “Spartans” trial began for the case of the deception of the electorate
After Three postponements opened the curtain of the “Spartans” trial accused of deceiving an electorate with a moral perpetrator Elias Kassidiaris.
The case arrived at the hearing following the reports of the Spartan leader, Vasilis Stiga for behind -the -scenes and illegal actions, Greek Mafia and “Don Corleone” with a total of 13 people facing justice.
THE Vasilis Stigas, Who is the only witness in the case, he went on to step up and attributed his references to … misunderstanding, noting that “no” members were guided by Elias Kassidiaris, who was sitting in the dock.
Mr Stykas said he was angry on the day he made the controversial statements, stressing that he did not name any MPs for illegal acts.
“Then we talked and solved the misunderstandings. And then we did quite well, “he said with the president, citing reports asking him,” Didn’t they want to be overturned by another leader? “
“Not that was pulling, extra -parliamentarians wanted it. There was a hatred for us Spartans, “said Mr Stykas, who, answering a question, said that the complaints that MPs were visiting Elias Kassidiaris in prison to take instructions, referring to great pressure he was accepting.
“I accepted many phone calls that informed me that they were doing some things. But afterwards, because there were some discussions, it had not been done. In times of intensity, some things can be said to an excessive degree. It turned out that they had nothing to do with it, ”he said.
Prosecutor: Are your complaints that the MPs of the Party are guided by Mr Kassidiaris?
Stock: Under no circumstances.
The Spartan leader talked about his career, stressing that he was a “strongly politicized person”. “I made the party so that when the conditions mature, I would go down to the political arena,” said the witness, who added “we made a quick pre -election campaign came the pre -election support from Mr Kassidiaris. Because I didn’t have much political power, I met some to participate in the elections. I did not know if they had a direct relationship with Mr Kassidiaris.
Chairman: Was this support something sudden?
Stigas: I don’t know Mr. Kassidiaris, he was welcome, it wasn’t something wrong. Even my friend Leventis would tell me I want to help you and I had public support I wouldn’t deny it. Anyone who wants to help I will not prevent it. This does not mean that the percentage we received comes from Mr. Kassidiaris. It does not mean that we had a relationship, that our ideologies are identified. For so many years I was in the political arena I had my acquaintances.
Mr Stykas spoke of a “ruthless war” he received after his election by extra -parliamentary actors.
“From the first days I was under pressure from extra -parliamentary agents, they were either individual citizens or supposedly or real journalists. All this pressure was expected to influence MPs and the surroundings. All of this was causing me pressure to say “Stiying your statute is perforated we will go to the prosecutor” … “he said and added” I was accepting heavy insults, … there was a journalist who was finding me before the election and after my election he was saying “friend”. There was an unbearable pressure and reports that said the stigma had found them with ND. This was a problem with Members. There were other publications that created more tension with the Members. They said that Stykas took a million from Mitsotakis’ family … Another post: Stykas went to Maximou, he was ordered by Mitsotakis to support Patoulis. “
The witness spoke of “scary pressure”.
Speaking about Elias Kassidiaris, the witness argued that the only communication he had with him was in the elections he wished him good luck.
Prosecutor: The accusation attributed to them is that MPs have been deceived. That is, Mr Kassidiaris chose them, they obeyed him. Is it true?
Stock: I didn’t know them very well, one brought each other. But they were not intended to overthrow me. I didn’t mean that Mr. Katsivardas in statements he had made in Peristylou wanted me to overthrow.
Mr. Metaxas I don’t know if he went to prisons. Since he was a lawyer he had the right to go. He had the noble goodness to give me an office to make the statements.
Prosecutor: So now you say that the voters were not deceived? That Kassidiaris was not behind you.
Stock: Under no circumstances. From the first moment I lowered the party to the election, I am the party president. Could there be a front and then this front has no reason? I had said in my statements from the beginning that the only president was me and no one else. There was no action by MPs that they didn’t recognize me for a leader. Excesses will be heard on the tensions. The course showed that there was no problem.
At the headquarters of the first unilateral felonies, Christos Papakostas, who was an investigator in the Golden Dawn case and therefore asked to abstain from the process “for reasons of decency”.
The judicial officer at the start of the proceedings informed defendants and lawyers about his movement. “Together with Mr. Georgouleas we spent many hours with Mr. Kassidiaris … it is not provided by law but I did it for reasons of decency as he had made some reports after me,” he said, explaining why he asked not to try the case himself.
The defense of Elias Kassidiaris noted that there is no problem with Mr Papakostas’ trial answering: “It has no personal problem but let’s be judged …”.
Eventually, the abstention request was rejected and the trial began with the deposition of the Spartan Party’s leader, Vasilis Stiga.
