Tui, one of the largest tourist agents in the world, continues to actively support tourist traffic to the island
With feelings of particular satisfaction and optimism for this year’s tourist season, the Thassos Tourism Organization welcomed the first two flights from the United Kingdom to Tui’s flying programs at Kavala.
The first English visitors who arrived in the area had their main destination their beautiful island Thassosthereby marking the official launch of the new tourist season.
The two flights, which departed from Manchester and London respectively, carried more than 350 travelers, who were welcomed with a warm welcome. Representatives of the Thassos Tourism Organization, local tourism agencies, as well as local professionals, were at the airport and warmly welcomed visitors, offering them local treats, brochures and a first smile of Greek hospitality.
In his statements to RES-EIA, Thassos Tourism President Yiannis Marcianos emphasized the importance of this first arrival, saying: “Today’s day is particularly important for Thassos tourism. TUI’s first flights are the kick of a period that we all expect is dynamic and creative. The actions of promotion and strategic cooperation with large tourism groups are fruitful and reinforce the position of Thassos on the international tourist map. “
“The Thassos Tourism Organization continues consistently and strategic planning to work to promote Thassos as a quality, authentic and sustainable tourist destination,” Mr Marcian concluded.

The tourist season of 2025 is particularly encouraging for the island of Thassos, with industry professionals hoping to increase arrivals, extending and expanding the season. The successful launch with TUI’s flights is the first positive step in this direction.
The reception was also attended by Vice President of the Tourism Organization Lambrin Fokas, Anastasios Bilias as a spokesman for the Kavala Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Thassos Tourism Organization, Maria Polymerou as a spokesman for TUI in Thassos as well as the Secretary of the Organization.
