According to data from the Bank of Greece, inbound travel traffic increased by 17.3% to 31.97 million travelers, compared to 27.25 million travelers in the corresponding period of 2022.

This development resulted in travel receipts showing an increase of 15.4% compared to the corresponding period of 2022 and reaching 20.1 billion euros.

Receipts from residents of EU-27 countries increased by 11.0% to €10.9 billion, as well as receipts from residents of non-EU-27 countries by 18.4% to €8,41.4 billion euros. In more detail, receipts from residents of the euro zone countries amounted to 8.9 billion euros, increased by 11.9%, as well as receipts from residents of the EU-27 countries outside the euro zone, which showed an increase of 7.1% and amounted to 2.06 billion euros.

In particular, the collections from Germany increased by 8.7% and amounted to 3.5 billion euros, as well as those from France by 11.6%, which amounted to 1.4 billion euros from United Kingdom, which amounted to 3.2 billion euros. The receipts from USA also increased by 15.1% and amounted to 1.3 billion euros, while those from Russia decreased by 22.8% and amounted to 31.4 million euros.

Regarding travel traffic through airports, it increased by 12.5%, while that through road border stations by 34.5%. During the reviewed period, travel traffic from EU-27 countries amounted to 19,285.5 thousand travelers, showing an increase of 15.0% compared to the corresponding period of 2022, while travel traffic from non-EU countries -27 increased by 20.9% and amounted to 12.7 million. travelers.

Travel traffic from euro area countries increased by 11.0%, and that from EU-27 countries outside the euro area, increased by 23.7%.

In particular, travel traffic from Germany showed an increase of 8.7% and amounted to 4.7 million. travelers, while that from France increased by 4.0% and amounted to 1.8 million travelers. In relation to countries outside the EU 27, travel traffic from the United Kingdom increased by 2.9% to 4.5 million travelers, as well as that from the USA by 31.3% to 1.37 million. travelers. Finally, travel traffic from Russia decreased by 5.9% and amounted to 33.2 thousand travelers.
