Specifically, the January 2025 pensions will be credited to pensioners’ accounts on two dates, Friday 20 and Monday 23 December. So:

– On Friday, December 20, the main pensions will be paid to OAEE, OGA and ETAA pensioners, the main pensions to those who retired from 1.1.2017 onwards and all the auxiliary pensions of the private sector.

– On Monday, December 23, the main and auxiliary pensions will be paid to the pensioners of the State and the main pensions for pensioners of IKA, banks, OTE, PPC, NAT, ETAP-MME and other Funds.

It is clarified that the actual increases in pensions will be of the order of 1.9%, i.e. below inflation.

At the same time, approximately 670,000 pensioners who receive main pensions up to 1,600 euros and have a personal difference, will receive extraordinary financial assistance on December 20.

The amount of the aid will be determined based on the amount of the pension, as follows:

– Pensioners with the sum of main pensions up to 700 euros will receive 200 euros.

– For pensions between 700.1 and 1,100 euros, an aid of 150 euros will be given.

– For those who receive between 1,100.1 and 1,600 euros, the aid will be 100 euros.

It is emphasized that from 2025 the Pensioner Solidarity Contribution is abolished for pensions up to 1,433.9 euros, as it incorporates the 2.4% increase in pensions. Therefore, pensioners with an income of up to €1,434 will see no cut, while those receiving between €1,434 and €1,470 will see a smaller reduction. The Pensioner Solidarity Contribution is adjusted, so that the threshold of each tier increases annually in proportion to the annual rate of increase in pensions, with a view to ensuring the support of pensioners.
