The European Commission as well as EU member states have yet to give final approval to the deal, according to the newspaper report, which cited officials.

SpaceX and the European Space Agency recently signed an agreement for two launches next year, each carrying two Galileo satellites, Javier Benedicto, one of the agency’s directors, told the WSJ.

Under the agreement, the satellites will be launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from the United States, he added, according to the Athens News Agency.

SpaceX and the European Commission did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
