The promotion and promotion of Greece to the British public as an ideal destination for adventure tourism was the aim of EOT’s participation for the first time in the two-day conference-B2B workshop of ATAS (Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers) in Liverpool.
EOT was the official sponsor of the welcome event on the first day of the conference, which – as stated in the relevant announcement – took place to the sounds of Greek music and Greek flavors, with the participating travel agents having the opportunity to take part in workshops on the Greek olive oil and Greek wines.
The ATAS Conference 2023 is a themed conference attended by 218 specialist travel agents, from the Liverpool area and across the UK. More specifically, the conference was attended by Travel counselors, Travelsophers, Personal Travel Agents, luxury tourism agents (Luxury Holidays, Designer travel, etc.) but also representatives of important travel groups, such as Hays Travel and Barrhead Travel.
The UK & Ireland EOT Office participated in the ATAS Conference 2023 as part of strengthening contacts with the UK market and made a number of business contacts with UK adventure tourism market players in parallel. As noted, the interest shown by British ТОs was great and focused on new destinations that could communicate to their clientele, throughout the year.
In collaboration with the Municipality of Volos, a raffle was held with a prize of a fam trip aimed at outdoor tourism in the wider area of Volos in the spring of 2024. The winner of the raffle was Carol Shoesmith, Award Winning Personal Travel Expert of Designer Travel.
