According to current legislation, the Christmas gift must be paid to employees by December 21 each year. For 2024, that date falls on a Saturday. so the gift will come in earlier, ie on Friday 20 December at the latest.
Who is entitled to the Christmas gift?
All private sector workers, regardless of the type of their employment contract (fixed-term or indefinite, full-time or part-time), are entitled to the Christmas gift. This right is guaranteed by the National General Collective Labor Agreement of 2010 and the Individual Labor Law Code.

Calculation of the Christmas gift
The time period considered is from May 1 to December 31 of each year.
For those who worked throughout the period:
Salaried employees: they are entitled to a full monthly salary.
Daily wage workers: they are entitled to 25 days’ wages.
For those who worked less time:
The gift is calculated as 2/25 of the monthly salary or 2 days’ wages for every 19 calendar days of work.
