“We were very innocent then, everything that was written had a weight, it was forced”
About the period of “Two Strangers” and the difficulty with which she faced recognition then she spoke Evelina Papoulia.
The well-known actress was hosted by Athenais Nega on “Kalytera Arga” on Tuesday (15/10) and, among other things, she mentioned the similarities of her role in the series with Eleni Menegaki.
“It was not a pleasant period for me. We were very innocent then, everything that was written had a weight, it was forced. So when you live a quiet life and are not exposed, neither success, nor attack, nor love is easy for you. It was too big for me”, confesses Evelina Papoulia.
“I went through a lot of stages. I was treated as Marina Kountouratou by everyone, from the public to the journalists. If I was serious or said I didn’t want to do another interview, they said I had “shopped” it. If I had “shopped” her, I would have had a great time. At that time, I was trying to be as Evelina as possible and it was difficult”, the actress characteristically admits.
“My role was combined with Eleni Menegaki, but I did not imitate her. I’m not good at mimics, I prefer to borrow things and build a role. There has been no conversation with her, nor did I feel bad when I met her, because I knew it was not the case. I think he was happy about it then, because he also had very good relations with Alexandros (s.s. Rigas). There was no case of misunderstanding”, answers Evelina Papoulia to a related question.
