“I’m in KAT, it wasn’t simple and it left me with stories. I will have an operation on the outer fibula of my right leg”

As if by a miracle, Michalis Mitrousis was saved, when a car crashed into the back of his motorcycle at speed and threw him on Syggrou Avenue, with dozens of cars moving on the road.

Three 24 hours after these scenes, o Michalis Mitroussis spoke to Live News and described what he experienced. He has realized that his life was saved because he was wearing a helmet and because in those dramatic seconds, amidst his misfortune, he got lucky.

“He came at a high speed in my lane, not running too far, because below I was going to turn, I hear a bang, I jump into the road, the engine goes, I hit the helmet with my head down, the helmet opens and I collect it.”

Michalis Mitroussis was driving normally in the downdraft towards Piraeus and South Suburbs. From one moment to the next, as he says, he found himself injured on the road.

“I’m in KAT, it wasn’t simple and it left me with stories. I will have an operation on the outer fibula of my right leg.”

Tests at the hospital where he was transferred showed that he had suffered a fibula fracture. However, despite the unbearable pain, he can be seen after the drift getting up, gritting his teeth and walking towards the sidewalk.

“I was turning with my helmet on and I could see the wheel of the car next to me”

A few hours before undergoing surgery at the CAT hospital, the actor remains calm. He has realized that his life was played out that afternoon and focuses on being alive.

“Fortunately, no one was coming behind him and fortunately, the person on the right who was going to LEA, which we lived next door to, turned right and stopped, because I was turning around with my helmet on and I saw the wheel of the next car. I got up on my own, I saw if I was fit, arms, legs, I moved, the leg hurt a lot.”

Michalis Mitroussis is optimistic that by Christmas he may have returned to his home.

By the side of the well-known actor is his daughter, close relatives and friends, who wish this adventure to be completed as soon as possible.

The images from the security cameras are already in the hands of the police and are being analyzed in an attempt to establish whether the driver who caused the accident had his mobile phone in his hands at the time, as eyewitnesses have reported.

“Thanks MEGA everyone came out to help”

The actor, shortly after completing the surgery he had to undergo, spoke to Nikos Evangeliatos and stated:

“Thanks MEGA, I was lucky in my misfortune. The children came out to help me. With the helmet I left on the asphalt. I know and learned from motorcyclists that when you crash or are crashed you let her go where she wants. […] The one who crashed hit the gas, I felt a gas and something behind, I saw my mirrors in seconds and heard a bang. Everyone came out of the MEGA to help me and then the ambulance came and I called the Kallithea Traffic Police.”

What the car driver claims

“There was absolutely no intention. He stopped immediately to the right when the collision occurred and managed to stop the car with the handbrake and brake. He has spoken to the actor and is as close to him as possible. It all happened in a fraction of a second, but it wasn’t the breakneck speed of the car, it was just bad timing, really bad timing. He’s still trying to figure it out.”
