Brent fell 3.05% to $75.10
Its prices oil continued their slide today, falling more than 3%, following a Washington Post report that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he plans to hit Iran’s military, not Iran’s oil or nuclear facilities.
Brent for December delivery fell 3.05% to $75.10. A barrel of US crude (WTI) was also down 3.05% at $71.55.
According to the report, Netanyahu had a telephone conversation with US President Joe Biden yesterday, their first in over seven weeks. In its report, the Washington Post cites two sources with knowledge of the matter, including one from the US, who wished to remain anonymous.
Netanyahu said he plans to hit Iranian military infrastructure in retaliation for Iran’s Oct. 1 missile attack on Israel, according to the two strikes.
The US president has already warned his ally not to attempt to target Iran’s nuclear facilities and that he opposes any strike on oil facilities.
The decline in oil prices has been intensified by persistent worries about demand in China, a key importer of the black gold, despite its efforts to stimulate its economy.
Yesterday, a barrel of North Sea Brent fell 2% to $77.46 and a barrel of US crude (WTI) fell 2.29% to $73.83.
