What the figures show compared to 2023
There were 1,014,522 arrivals and 2,279,499 overnight stays in the country’s hotel-type accommodation, camping and short-stay collective accommodation (rooms for rent) last November, noting an increase compared to the corresponding month of 2023, by 2.9% in arrivals and 3.5% in overnight stays.
In particular, according to ELSTAT data, in November 2024 compared to the corresponding month of 2023, there was a 4.5% increase in arrivals and a 5.2% increase in overnight stays by foreigners. Correspondingly for nationals, there was an increase in arrivals and overnight stays by 1.6% and 1.9%, respectively.
A greater contribution to arrivals to the total number of accommodations was observed by nationals with 53.9% and to overnight stays by foreigners with 50.2%. While, the average total overnight stay amounted to 2.2 days.
