An exchange of gunfire between police officers and four unidentified assailants who attempted to break into a bank ATM took place this morning in the city of Aegius.
In particular, according to the police, a patrol car crew of the Aegis Security Department spotted the unknown assailants at the moment they were trying to break in. ATM bank, which is installed in the surrounding supermarket area.
Immediately after, the unknown assailants started shooting at the police officers and the latter returned fire, without causing any injuries.
The perpetrators then boarded a passenger car and headed towards the old national road of Patras – Corinth, reported APE BEE.
A short time later, the perpetrators’ car was found burned near the eastern entrance of the city, while as it emerged from the police investigations, the perpetrators’ vehicle was stolen.
In the meantime, as part of the police investigations to identify and arrest the perpetrators, evidence is being collected, both from the place where the ATM was installed, and from the place where the burnt car was found, while video footage from security cameras is being sought , which operate in the wider area.
