“Those who wrote that I have AIDS are bums, I had to take legal action”
Stavros Zalmas spoke about the series “Erotas Fygas” in which he stars, his career, but also the publications that destroyed his life and career for years on the show “Pame Danae!”.
As Stavros Zalmas initially said, he admires the actors participating in “Eros Fyga”. “We knew that the series would continue before the summer. Whispers about moving to another channel have also reached us. If the series is to be moved to another channel, it will be done from January, until the end of December there is a contract with the channel”, explained the actor.
The popularity of Stavros Zalmas skyrocketed after the legendary series “Touch of the Soul” and the forbidden love of Despina (Theofania Papathoma) and father Ioannis. As the actor mentioned, after the series he was not offered a corresponding role, but an advertisement, which he refused. “The recognition didn’t scare me, but it made me a bit dumb,” he said. “From “Africa” I remember the two-month trip we took and traveled all over Kenya. We went to shoot a scene near courting elephants, luckily we’re alive. The experience in the Maasai villages was shocking, they are huge, shapely and walk around naked,” he said about filming the series.
Stavros Zalmas lives on a boat and not in his house. In fact, once he was in danger, as he was between Aegina and Kalamaki and he was alone, while winds of 11 Beaufort were blowing. Finally, he referred to the misleading magazine reports, which claimed that he was suffering from AIDS, regretting that he did not take legal action then. “They wrote indirectly but clearly, that I suffered from AIDS. All I did was get angry and say “fuck you.” I should have taken legal action, but then I didn’t have the brains I have now. The animals that ruined my life for 15 years never apologized.”
“People didn’t ask me if I had AIDS, but it opened a way for me to pass. In those years it was considered a plague. The people who wrote that I have AIDS are bums, if I had taken legal action, I would now have an apartment building,” he said.
