In the announcement it is known that at the same time, the Deputy Minister’s recommendation will be notified to the competent Special Standing Committee on Institutions and Transparency of the Hellenic Parliament for an opinion. With the completion of this process, it is now the first time that the administration of Greek television radio at the level of the president, as well as the Managing Director, has come from the above selection process, which ensures meritocracy and maximum transparency.

In addition, it is noted that Yiannis Papadopoulos has been designated since last September as a temporary president and then participated in ASEP’s public invitation to fill the position, in which he even primarily.

“Thanks to his many years of journalistic experience, he has already contributed significantly to the quality upgrading of public television and radio, which has been evolving in recent years. His choice to finally fill in the president’s position provides the guarantees that ERT will continue to perform its mission, providing citizens of information, training and entertainment high, with respect to the money of Greek taxpayers, as well as the principles of pluralism and innovation.

Giannis Papadopoulos began his television career on ERT. He has worked as a reporter, author of matter, parliamentary, diplomatic and political author, editor -in -chief and news presenter and newsletter, and has been in newspapers in newspapers, television channels and radio stations for the last eighteen years.

At the same time, he has served as a member of the Press Office of the Presidency of the Republic from 1997 to 2021. He is a graduate of London School of Economics in Political Science and International Relations (BSC), holder of a Masters Degree (MSc) International Business Administration in Soas University of London and is currently a PhD candidate (PhD Candidate) The announcement is also said by the office of the Deputy Minister under the Prime Minister and a government spokesman.
