Doukas: “We made a unanimous decision and sent a message”
The final revocation of the license of the bar on Vouliagmenis Avenue was unanimously decided by the Municipal Council of Municipality of Athens, during today’s meeting. This is the store where minors had fun last Saturday night and were taken to the hospital due to consumption alcohol.
During the discussion, the deputy mayor of Municipal Police and Public Common Areas Thomas Georgiadis informed the House that there are two stores operating on Vouliagmenis Avenue, with the first license being given in 2020 for both and that in 2022 there was a corrective license for the current company.
The legal representative of the business owner attended and spoke at the meeting and argued the reasons why the license should not be revoked.
Immediately after the unanimous approval of the proposal, the mayor Haris Doukas said: “It is important that we made a unanimous decision on this issue and we are sending a message. We can also join forces and send a letter to the government to legislate for the Municipal Police to be able to intervene in such cases.”
