High gains of 11.71% for AIA stock

The stock market ended today’s session slightly lower with the market retreating after six consecutive bullish sessions, during which the main stock index had recorded a total gain of 3.91%.

A warm reception was reserved for the market at the Athens International Airport, on the first day of trading of its shares in Athens Stock Exchange. It attracted a lot of investment interest, closing with gains of 11.71%, at 9.16 euros (from 8.2 euros entry price) with the value of transactions in the share exceeding 90 million euros. It initially recorded a higher price at 9.56 euros (+16.59%).

The share of PPC (-3.84%) came under strong pressure after the Commission’s announcement of its preliminary opinion that it violated EU antitrust rules. The company’s management announced that the alleged violation of competition rules concerns a period before the redesign of the Greek electricity market according to the dictates of the EU Target Model (Target Model) but mainly long before the transformation of the company into a modern and sustainable energy company.

The General Price Index closed at 1,397.14 points, down 0.47%.

Intra-sessionally it recorded a higher price at 1,407.71 units (+0.28%) and a lower price at 1,382.38 units (-1.52%).

The value of transactions soared to 232.08 million euros, while 36,395,877 shares were traded.

The large-cap index fell 0.77%, while the mid-cap index gained 0.39%.

Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Sarantis (+5.57%), Motor Oil (+3.45%), Terna Energy (+2.45%), Jumbo (+1 .66%), Autohellas (+1.65%) and PPA (+1.60%).

On the contrary, the biggest fall was recorded by the shares of PPC (-3.84%), Elvalhalcor (-3.45%), Viohalco (-1.85%), Alpha Bank (-1.96%), of Ethniki (-1.74%) and of Piraeus (-1.50%).

The largest volume of transactions was presented by AIA and Alpha Bank, trading 9,675,719 and 4,751,712 shares, respectively.

The highest transaction value was recorded by AIA with 90.13 million euros and PPC with 40.35 million euros.

44 stocks moved up, 70 down and 14 remained stable.

The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: AIA +11.71% and Iktinos +8.92%.

The biggest drop was registered by the shares: VIS -8.26% and Vioter -7.41%.
