What the “Agios Andreas” Hospital of Patras reports about the baby girl born there in June 2022
The death of the first infant of the 23-year-old from Kato Achaia was due to aspiration pneumonia, as reported according to information cited by the “Light in the Tunnel” show, in the histological examination of the 19-day-old girl, while the toxicological examinations of the baby, nothing came of it.
For the second little girl of 23-year-old Irini, aged about 2 months, the doctors at “Agia Sophia” where she was hospitalized for a month and a half, had even done toxicological tests, without finding anything special. For this reason they requested the necropsy and further control with histological tests. The Pediatric Hospital also carried out a genetic test, in order to establish whether the deaths of the two unfortunate children were due to a genetic problem. For the deaths of the two children, a preliminary examination is being conducted, following a prosecutor’s order.
“The child left us safe and sound”
The show “Light in the Tunnel” contacted the “Agios Andreas” Hospital of Patras, where the young woman gave birth to her first child. “The child was born on June 1, 2022. He stayed for about 6-7 days and then was discharged. All his tests were normal when he was discharged from us. The child was fine. As usual, two days after discharge, the newborn was re-examined and found to be perfectly fine. From the hospital’s neonatal unit, it was recommended that any additional examinations of the newborn should be done with an appointment in Karamandanio. A child never leaves us if they are not well,” hospital sources said on the show.
The young mother of the two dead children, speaking on the show, said characteristically about her little girl who died at the “Agia Sophia” Children’s Hospital: “The child was pale, rolling her eyes and disappearing. The third time the episode was more serious and they increased her dosage of the medicine and I said why should this be done since she is still an infant. Suddenly, within a day, my child passed away.” She also mentioned her first child, who died 15 months ago, suddenly in the crib, while she was alone at home.
