The brutal abuse of a dog in Halkidiki is denounced by the Polygyros Philanthropic Association “Kivotos”.
According to a post by the Association on social media, a resident found the animal between Metamorfosi and Metagitsio, near the quarry. “Someone tied a double wire to her stomach, twisted it tight with pliers and tied a tin to the other end of it so she could drag it as she walks… We don’t know how long it was like that, but the wound is so deep that the bone can be seen through her spine,” the Union says in the post, which is accompanied by photos and videos.
The dog, whose name is Niki, was taken by municipal employees to a veterinary clinic that cooperates with the Association, where she receives care from the vet and volunteers. According to “Kivoto”, the animal needs intensive care. He is about 1.5-2 years old and only 13 kg. She seems quite lively and is eating well. Unfortunately, she tested positive for heartworm and will need treatment for that as well.
