The president of PAE Olympiacos did not expect the motion of censure against him to be discussed
Vangelis Marinakis submitted his resignation from the presidency of the Super League today.
In today’s Board of Directors The proposal of censure against Vangelis Marinakis was raised as a matter of cooperation, at the initiative of AEK, Panathinaikos, PAOK and Ari. However, Asteras Tripolis stated, for its part, that the problem is dealing with the violence in the stadiums and not the person who is in charge of the organizing authority of the championship.

“Gentlemen,
I want to make it clear to all of you regarding the issue of violence plaguing sports in recent days, that I unequivocally condemn all forms of violence both in society and in football, and I and my team show this with actions and not with empty words and announcements.
After the incident with the firecracker, we investigated and identified the perpetrator and expelled him from our stadium for life. At the same time we installed high definition cameras before the relevant government announcements.
I also remind you that I had the honor of being the first Club President to organize directly with UEFA a European final without the domestic Association, with great success and with the highest safety standards being met and to be congratulated for them.
We are the first to report the cases of Betting and Corruption in football and we want the knife to go to the bone and the truth to shine in all the cases. Only in this way will football be unhooked from the criminal elements that are killing it.
To date, as President of the League I have brought to the cooperative, which was on the verge of dissolution, the biggest sponsorship in the history of the Super League to date, 9 million euros, which ensured its continued existence.

We reduced the amounts leaving our teams and ending up in the EPO coffers and returned them to them.
We asked for an audit from the EPO to see where the teams’ millions were going and some even within the Super League board did not want transparency.
