The use of anti-slip chains is no longer necessary
The traffic of all types of passenger vehicles and buses was smooth and without requiring the use of anti-skid chains, after yesterday’s snowfall in the areas of Hortiati, Asvestohori, Panorama, Exochi, etc., as stated in an announcement by the Municipality of Pylaia – Hortiati. In particular, it is noted that the snowfall “was dealt with immediately with complete success by the snow removal services” and it is emphasized that “the result was from the first moment that all the roads were safe in all the above areas”. In fact, as it is underlined, “many visitors from her city Thessaloniki they climbed in the afternoon and evening hours and enjoyed the beauty of the snow without any problems at all.”
According to APE BEE, the announcement of the Municipality of Pylaia – Hortiatis was issued after the announcement of the Traffic Authority regarding the use of anti-skid chains in Hortiatis, Panorama and Pefkas. According to the Municipality, “the announcement of the Thessaloniki Traffic Authority refers to the self-evident obligation of vehicle drivers according to the Code of Civil Procedure to be equipped with anti-slip chains in the trunk of the car against any risk during the winter and in no case as inaccurately stated in the publication to drive around with anti-skid chains, as there is no such reason.”
