New faces are examined every day, while the verifications of data from the Forensic Laboratories and the data from the declassifications are awaited
The Police is expected to file an indictment for approximately 50 hooligans who participated in the incidents in Rentis, which resulted in the 31-year-old police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis ending up in the intensive care unit today after a 20-day battle.
This is the main goal of the methodical investigations of the police officers of the Sub-Directorate of Sports Violence, who are investigating the circumstances of the fatal injury of the 31-year-old MAT police officer, according to the police editor of the newspapers “To Vima” and “Ta Nea”, Vassilis Lambropoulos. As he told MEGA, several persons who are related to or have knowledge of the incidents are present at the GADA building every day and who proceed to “informal” discussions with the police or give statements.
The main interest of the Police has turned to cross-referencing and verifying the relevant reports on the findings from the Forensic Laboratories of the Hellenic Police, but also on the data from the declassifications. According to the police editor’s report, it is not expected in the near future that there will be any intermediate arrests or other movements of the competent officers of the Hellenic Police, who operate in absolute secrecy and in constant cooperation with the Piraeus Prosecutor’s Office, in order to have a complete clarification of those happened to Rentis.
