As pointed out by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, this is an advance that corresponds to half of the intended grant to the affected businesses and is the highest level of advance that has been granted in the context of state aid.

The grant is set at 70% of the estimated damage, (the highest percentage set to date for a grant after a natural disaster), resulting in half of the grant as an advance corresponding to 35%.

In particular, on Friday the following were paid:

– 5,018,660.46 euros to 151 businesses of the Larissa Regional Unit,

– 2,187,076.69 euros to 162 businesses of the Karditsa Regional Unit,

– 1,615,350.78 euros to 236 businesses of the Trikala Regional Unit,

– 1,838,709.20 euros to 164 businesses of the Magnesia Regional Unit,

for which the damage assessment by the state aid committees has been completed.

A total of 10.7 million euros were paid to 713 businesses that have been affected by the unprecedented flooding that hit Thessaly.

The grant concerns damage to business assets, in particular damage to mechanical equipment, raw materials, goods and damaged vehicles of the business. Thus, businesses receive 50% of the grant in advance, with the remainder to be paid after the completion of the control of disbursement supporting documents that will be submitted to the General Secretariat for Natural Disaster Recovery and State Aid.

The advance payments both to businesses and to agricultural holdings, in the context of state aid, will continue depending on the flow of data and the course of completion of the work of the State Aid Committees of the Region of Thessaly.
