Why was the successful show that aired for seven seasons “cut” by ERT
The journalistic world – and not only – has been plunged into mourning for the loss of Kostas Hardavellas, who passed away at the age of 79, as he was suffering from chronic health problems.
Among other things, in his long career in journalism, the show “Reporters”, which was shown on ERT and presented together with Yiannis Dimaras and Giorgos Lianis, stood out. The first episode, directed by Theodoros Angelopoulos, was shown for the first time on December 13, 1981 on the then YENED and later on ERT2 with Costas Resvanis, Costas Hardavellas and Yiannis Dimaras as presenters. However, in the second broadcast, Resvanis was replaced by Lianis and the specific composition remained until its end.
The show ran for seven seasons and dealt with freelance and cultural reporting. Among the top shows was a trip to Syria with Manos Katrakis, as well as the hostage situation of Kazantzidis from the company MINOS. However, it was interrupted at the end of 1988, when he dealt with his son Vassilis Tsitsanis, who was accused of murder. At that time, it was considered that the specific topic was overplayed, resulting in its “cutting”.
